To Stage, or Not to Stage: That is the Question

Whether 'tis nobler for the home owners to suffer the DOM and low ball offers, Or to take arms against a buyer's market, And by staging sell them?

Home Staging Goals

Focus on best features:
 Make your home stand out from the competition.  In each space, have a focal point to draw the buyer's eye.  

Fix the negatives: Don't turn buyers off with a dirty home or overwhelming them with all the fixes. Buyers make a running list in their mind of items to be fixed which becomes bargaining power to reduce the price.  

Declutter: When you sell a home, you are selling square footage.  Clutter is not only distracting, but takes away valuable square footage and storage space.

Depersonalize: Sell the space and not your personal items and taste.  Neutralize paint and decor to appeal to as many people as you can.

Accessorize: Create a high end but lived in feel.  Using the right accessories can enhance the home. Over accessorizing will look cluttered, while lack of accessories will make the space feel cold and uninviting.  

Images: Showing the home in the best light includes good photographs.  Since the majority of searches begin online, entice buyers to view your home with quality photos.

Hi Joy, good, basic, sound advice to all homesellers. Now you know why there is such a strong market for self storage facilities.
