I want to move, but I want it to be just like home.
I work occasionally with people relocating from other parts of the country. One of the things that I find to very interesting is that they want to relocate, but want everything to be "just like home".
Moving to Phoenix from most parts of the country (So Cal excepted) needs to be an adventure. Having relocated here myself from the Midwest, I found considerable "culture shock" that took some getting used too.
While difficult, relocating means adapting to and embracing your new surroundings. In Phoenix, you must learn to love a desert plant in bloom, the rocky hills and mountains and multi-colored sunsets more than the grass and the trees of your old home. You must learn to love beige stucco instead of brown and gray siding. And yes, you must learn to drive fast (although they do that in other areas of the country too).
So I say, "Live this new adventure!", Enjoy it, or you will quickly become homesick and miss out on all the fun, enjoyment and learning we have to offer.
