Gratitude: A 9 Letter Word
is a nine letter word we often hear, some of us use it on daily bases
and some use it less than. I recently had the pleasure to witness
gratitude under not so nice circumstance.
My dear friend Bonnie Churchill was recently involved in a car accident. The only information I had at the time, was that she is at the north tower of Cedar Sinai Medical Center.
I am not
a big fan of hospitals or visiting patients in them, however for
Bonnie, I got to her bed site as fast as I could. Even though Bonnie is a
force not to be reckoned with and holds a gentle soul, however she has a
small body frame with years of life experiences under her belt.
my first question was; how are you feeling Bonnie? Her reply not only
shocked the hell out of me but was a huge wake up call. Bonnie answered me by saying: I am doing wonderful and grateful to be alive. Shortly after I found out the following:
- Bonnie had 4 surgeries since the accident and one is scheduled for the following week.
- Bonnie will need to enter physical therapy after her discharge
- The accident was not anyone’s fault
- Her car cannot be saved
stand in front of this small body frame witnessing her 2 broken arms and
2 broken ankles, Bonnie maintained her gratitude and assured her
herself that she is doing wonderful and grateful to be alive. She did
not enter into a victim consciousness or wondered who to blame, but
rather she kept her gratitude mindset in tact that day and every day
after while I visited her.
not help but ask the question; how is Bonnie keeping this mindset
considering all that she been through ? The answer is simple; she just
is. One of the lessons I captured after visiting Bonnie is the need to
be in a gratitude consciousness at all times. She is doing great and her
recovery is reflecting her mind set.
is a long time West Hollywood resident, please send good thoughts her
way. Is gratitude only a nine letter word or is it much more than
that?? Please share your thoughts below and let’s keep our gratitude
GRATITUDE IS OUR ATTITUDE
