Legend has it that there is a haunted house in Alta Loma, California. Â Not too far away from my house to be exact. Â This is actually the first time I have ever heard about it and thought I would share it with you with Halloween just around the corner. Â Here in Alta Loma (or Rancho Cucamonga) we don't typically have any scary houses, so when I read about this the other day, I just had to share it with you all. Â This house is located in what is considered "The Woods" which is just North of Hillside and East of Hermosa Avenue-not too far away from Haven by the mountains. Â It is a nice neighborhood tucked away with a lot of eucalyptus trees surrounding the homes-therefore, it is very woody-hence the name "The Woods."
This home was built in 1989. Â It is not an old home. Â It is on one half acres of land with about 150 eucalyptus trees. It is only about 2200 square feet-actually the smallest home that was built by the owner. Â He built it for his wife. Â They had twin girls.
The man was served divorce papers and he ended up getting really depressed. Â His wife wanted him out of the house on top of it, but he did not want to leave as he had literally built the house with his own hands. Â He swore that day that he would never leave. Â The next day after they had this conversation, he waited for his wife to go to work and his daughters to go to school and got his shotgun. Â He went down to one of the larger eucalyptus trees and well, I am sure you get the picture.
When the girls came home from school, they saw that the back door was open and went outside. Â One girl went out front, the other out back. Â The girl that went out back found her fathers's body and began screaming so loudly that the neighbors called the police. Â As you can imagine how traumatic this must have been for the girls. Â In fact, it was so traumatic that the one girl killed herself by taking a bath and slitting her wrists. Â Of course, all of this was too much for the mom and daughter that survived all of this to take, so they sold the home and moved out.
The new owner of the home did not stay much longer than about a year.  And, all of the other owners have done the same.  They say there are so many strange things that happen  inside and outside of the home.
On the horse trail that is behind the home, neighbors and locals have seeing figures of the husband wandering around at night right through trees. Â Others have heard the daughter screaming as the wind blows through the trees at night. The daughter that died also whispers "daddy" when it's really quiet in the house.
The father said he would never leave the house, so if you wan to check it out, go back at night time and look for the smallest house in the area with a lot of trees. See if you can hear the screams of the daughter or see the father or his shadow wandering around the area.
