Go, Pack, Go!
Even though temperatures have been hovering around zero degrees it's really heating up in Door County and the rest of Northeastern Wisconsin now that the Green Bay Packers have earned their right to play the Steelers  in Super Bowl XLV on Feb. 6 in Dallas, TX.Â
The economic impact of the Packers' win at Chicago began almost immediately after the game as fans turned out to buy extra copies of area newspapers emblazoned with 72 point headlines declaring the Packers NFC Champions!!! Everywhere t-shirts, ball caps, magazines, beer glasses, footballs and just about any items that carry a green and gold logo are being swept off the shelves enmasse. Watering holes in Brown and Door County are already promoting Super Bowl parties. Door County resorts are offering Super Bowl specials and the price for the few remaining tickets for the game just keeps going up and up.
The coffee shop down the street was abuzz with Sturgeon Bay patrons trying to figure out how to finagle a ticket and a trip to Dallas. The cook plans to drive nonstop with a buddy and then crash for free with a cousin who lives 45 miles from Dallas. Another fan knowns someone who knows someone who lives in the shadow of the stadium. The rest of us just plan to win the lottery.
Elsewhere, it is business as usual though nearly every phone call to our Coldwell Banker office begins with, "How about those Packers?" and nearly every e-mail ends with "Go, Pack, Go." So if you want to own property withn "hollering" distance of Lambeau Field we are still open for business so just give the Adams' Team a call at 1-800-743-4419, but  please don't call on Feb. 6 as we are busy.
