Staged for Success

I have always loved to perform in plays.  As a young man I loved the theater and the stage.  I loved how the stage  would be set up for each scene and everything would be perfectly placed to make it seem and feel as real as possible.  The excitement of getting ready to walk out in front of the crowd to deliver a performance.  Real Estate is no different getting your home in tip top shape and presenting a piece of art to the consumer.  As an actor my job was to make the audience feel what I was portraying and feel as if they were in my shoes.  Selling your home is the same you want the consumer to feel at home and be in your shoes as the home owner.  When selling your home remember you are selling a lifestyle not a transaction or a deal.  Psychology says people buy based on feeling and then try to justify in their minds that they have made the right decision.  Home staging is setting up your home to portray a feeling and present to the audience a lifestyle that they think they want.  Staged homes sell quicker and for top dollar, many staged homes sell for at least 95% of listing price.  So before you put that for sale sign up remember you are presenting your home to an audience ask yourself what is my home portraying and how well is it doing that.  Would the EMMY go to your front door?
