There are a lot of scam sites that offer your free yearly credit report and then rope you into a pricey monitoring service that does nothing to help your credit.  Below is the site to go to, as recommend by Kiplingers magazine (great magazine on all things $).

I checked it out and think it is great.  No scams.  Just your credit report.  It is fast and easy. You pick the bureau.  I suggest staggering the bureau's so that you can monitor your credit throughout the year for FREE.  Do not buy your score just review the info to make sure all the accounts on your report you are familiar with.  Check to make sure your address is correct too.  The first sign of identity theft is a new address you know nothing about.
