  • Lakeway, TEXAS - New Starbucks Received Permit for Drive-Thru

    One Starbucks closed in Lakeway at the end of 2010, but not to worry. It was replaced by a local cafe called Java Dive, and another Starbucks is in the works for the south side of RR 620, right across the street from the one in the Randall's shopping center.

    If everything goes according to plan, anyone travelling towards the Lake Travis High School, the Lakeway Regional Medical Center, the Hill Country Galleria, downtown Austin, etc. will be able to swing through a drive-thru for their coffee products and be on their way rather than having to cross traffic, park and so on.

    This new addition to the south side of RR 620 will compliment the other new addition going in right across the street. Real-del-lago will be a 23,000 sq. ft. shopping center with office spaces. Craigo’s Italian restaurant will be the anchor for Real-del-Lago. Anyone leaving Craigo’s will soon have options about what side of the street they get their after-dinner coffee.

    If there is one statistic that has a lot of clout in the real estate industry, regional unemployment rates are it. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indicated in December of 2010 that Texas’s overall unemployment rate was 1.4% lower than the national average, ending the year with an 8% unemployment rate. The Austin-Round Rock area was reported to have a 6.8% unemployment rate, which means a 2.6% lower unemployment rate than the national average.
