A huge THANKS to all agents that don’t answer the phone when it rings or feel the need to
return calls the following day…or between the hours of blah blah. I appreciate the business that you send me – keep it up. Over the weekend I had two solid buyers and a renter tell me that they called two to four different agents looking for help and info – and I was the only one to pick up the phone. I referred the rental and have two new solid buyer clients.
Did the agent community not learn from the last several years? Did some of you miss the memo that we’re in an “instant gratification” world? That the net has a 24 hour open door policy? Yeah yeah – I hear the nonsense that “you need your family time….” sure you do. I see cell phones in restaurants, movies, cars, at kids sporting events, at the beach, on the slops even in the gym between sets and on treadmills. Is that “family time”? Is everyone that important? You’ll blab endlessly but can’t take a business call after 6? Or on the weekend? Really?
Last I checked, a successful agent understands their clientele….mine would like to at least know that I care to pick up the phone. If I’m away from the laptop I tell them and I’ll get back to them ASAP with what they want. In many cases, I can take a few minutes right on my phone or I-Pad and scratch their itch. Are you too important to do that? Facebook and words with friends getting in the way?
Do me a favor – keep it up. I promise not to call after 6 to thank you….I know you need that “family time”.

Thank you for a thought provoking post and a few smiles and chuckles....Although I agree with most of what you said in this post, there are legitimate times as agents that it is not in the best interest of our clients to answer calls...I try to make myself available 24/7 as well...however I will not take clients/lead calls while working with another client or during closings and negotiations. Let's keep in mind that yes, this is an instant gratification society with the mentality that agents are a dime a dozen, but compromising our clients needs and work ethics just for the hope of making another buck only goes to reinforce the negative reputation agents have been given over the years. I am happy to see you work so diligently at servicing your clients needs and that you are so responsive to them, it certainly is the fundamental trait of a successful agent and you have certainly earned that position through hard work and dedication.
I wish you continued success,

But I agree with Hank! It should not take 7 hours to get a call back on availablity of a listing. If you have listings let us know it is available the sooner the better.
Hang in there
