San Diego Luxury Condo Market Update

The San Diego luxury condo market continues to exhibit signs of strenghtening fueled by high demand and no new construction inventory being added to the market.  The price segment for residences in the $500,000 to $750,000 range is particularly strong.

In downtown San Diego this sort of budget would buy a very nice 2 bedroom plus den and 2 bathroom condo with 1,200 to 1,500 sq ft approximately in a high rise full service building.

The higher you go in that price range the better the views will be with condo residences offering panoramic views of the bay starting in the mid $600k's (just a few years back in 2010 this number would have been in the mid $500k's).

For the 2011 calendar year the average selling price per square foot for a downtown San Diego luxury condo was $484 per foot while for the 6 month "high season" period between March and September 2012 the average selling price per foot rised to $532.
