I just got the same email today. He only wasted 10 minutes of my time. I feel bad for the other Realtors that actually wrote up the contract. What do they gain from this scam? I don't understand the reasoning behind it.

it seems that they are trying to send a bad check to the Attorney, they turning around and backing out of the deal and asking for the attorney to write them a refund, however they must be total idiots because there is no attorney or Title company that would write a refund check without clearing of funds on the check sent to them. I just don't know what they could gain

Once under contract, their trying to have the title company or attorney's wire them half of the earnest money before the title company or attorney's cash the check. The earnest money check is completely false and will bounce. I guess they think people are going to send half of an earnest money check before ever receiving any money...Stay away from this buyer!
