    Ever heard the term 'House Poor'? Here's a quick definition....

    House Poor: A situation in which so much income goes to the costs of owning a home that little is left over for discretionary expenses.

    For example: If you bought a home and most all of your monthly income goes towards the mortgage, insurance, utility bills, etc. that you had very little income left for any items other than necessities.

    Everyone interested in selling their home either wants to maximize the selling price and cash in on any equity in the property, or sell it fast. The motivation really depends on the individual home sellers and their particular situation.

    As real estate professionals we are always asked how to maximize a sales price or move the property quickly. Many think that advertising and other slick tricks and marketing technology is the ultimate answers. Some think extensive open houses can sell a home quickly. Many even think its a REALTORS' connections and buyer clientele base.

    While all of these methods do work, the #1 home selling tip I have to offer is..... Clean the place up.

    Nope, no big secret here. Just clean the place up. I don't care if you're selling a mansion or a shack, cleaning the place up is still, and will always be, the #1 way to sell a property.

    Would you buy a car that was dirty and scroungy? Maybe, but only to get a good deal and/or flip the car sale for a profit!

    Would you date someone that was dirty and unbathed. Only if you're mother set it up and had something to blackmail you with!

    Yes, cleanliness is by far the #1 way to sell anything, even a house.
