There are many reasons to be excited about being a resident of San
Francisco: Highly educated & proactive residents, incredibly
innovative tech companies and forward thinkers, great Farmer’s Markets,
unparalleled access to outdoor activities, and places like SOMA, South
Beach, and Mission Bay that are paving the way for its future.
is limited because we are surrounded by water. There is simply nowhere
else to go but “downtown†when talking about San Francisco as opposed to
what happened with New York’s migration uptown and into Brooklyn. Old
neighborhoods are full and the land below Market Street is a wonderland
for visionaries and those willing to pioneer the area.
Market Street, especially in the aforementioned locations, will soon be
the home to the new SaleForce “campus†and the new UCSF Medical Center.
In addition to the housing that already exists here, places like The
Madrone will offer more state-of-the-art and well-appointed housing
options. Let’s not forget that access to the major roadways make this
place ideal for commuters too.
What I’m really excited about is
the use of the land here. Yes, we have some great tech companies and
institutions arriving all the time and a better economy as a result but
what I’m truly excited to see is the overall use of the land. The
Mission Bay Park System expects to deliver a total of 43 acres of
recreational space that will include playgrounds, walkways along the
Bay, bicycle paths, community parks, and soccer fields!
