The love affair between high tech and San Francisco's South of Market district shows no sign of cooling.

Forty technology companies are looking for close to 2 million square feet of office space in San Francisco, most of it South of Market, according to a report by real estate firm Colliers International. (The original article can be found on SFGate.com here:

Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, and other significant local companies are in the midst of the largest hiring expansion in their history. These newly hired employees are relocating and want to be near where they work. With little inventory available, and even less land to build, plus historically low interest rates, it is definitely a seller’s market in several lucky Bay Area locales.

    Good deals in SoMa:
    - 2 bedroom (not Loft) under $500,000
    - several medium size 1 bedroom Lofts; price range from $525,000 & up
    - several large (approx. 1400 sq ft) size 1 bedroom Lofts; price range from $575,000 & up
