Why not buy now?

I spoke to a buyer that I have been working with for 2 years yesterday. He found a house that was perfect for him....he is very conservative so the price range is well below his mortgage qualification, the interest rates are lower than when he first started looking. Why is he not buying? waiting for the prices to go down further? He has spent two years cramped in an apartment with a wife and child. The wife has indicated that their quality of life is poor because of this circumstance...he could be happy in a good space home where he and his wife could have privacy and their child a yard to run and play in at a monthly payment that is not that much more than his current rent yet he is waiting....for????

Beats me Lis! They probably don't feel the fear of losing, as there is so much inventory. People seem to buy when interest rates are on the rise. Maybe we'll see more people making decisions.

I think the time to buy is now. We have our home up for sale so I may be anit partial but school will be out soon and I see a huge jump in movement in my city. People will be free to get the family out, alot of people will be off work for the summers ie teachers, and the weather would be better and houses tend to look more liveable in the summer when the sun is shining and the landscape in blooming. Our agent seems to think that we will start getting more people seriously looking at our home starting in AMrch or April. The time to buy is now,the market is ubstable and this may be the best we get.
