Highlands Ranch Community Association is Largest HOA in the United States

The Highlands Ranch Community Association, which is commonly referred to as the “HCRA” serves the residents of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. It is the biggest homeowner’s association in the entire country and it operates on behalf of almost 30,000 households.

The HCRA has a mission: “Enhancing property values and creating quality of life through recreation, community events, and leadership."

Highlands Ranch is a large master planned community located on the south side of the Denver metropolitan area. The area provides unparalleled amenities to its residents. Besides offering designated open space, parks, trails, recreation centers, and community sponsored events, the residents of Highlands Ranch greatly benefit from the HCRA in many additional ways. For example, the HCRA works diligently to ensure the community’s covenants are upheld at all times.

The HCRA is tasked with several responsibilities. A sample is highlighted below. Anyone who is considering moving to Highlands Ranch or purchasing property in this community should take time to review the HCRA’s website.

Who Benefits from HCRA?

Anyone who lives in Highlands Ranch or owns property in Highlands Ranch either directly or indirectly benefits from the HCRA. Residents and property owners are automatically members of the HCRA.

Recreation Centers:

There are four large recreation centers located in Highlands Ranch. These centers provide areas for residents to enjoy workouts, play sports, go swimming, host parties, have meetings, and attend seminars and classes. These centers are also locations for many HCRA-hosted community events. The HCRA runs and maintains all of the recreation centers in Highlands Ranch.

Activity Guide:

There are many HCRA-sponsored activities and events available to Highlands Ranch residents during all months of the year. The HCRA maintains an activity guide that lists all happenings in an easy-to-read format. The guide also lists HCRA-run camps and preschool classes available for children.

In order to help Highlands Ranch residents stay informed about community news, the HCRA publishes a monthly newsletter that is distributed to all residents. Newsletters are delivered to homeowners and are also available in an electronic format on the HCRA website.

Cultural Affairs:

The HCRA works directly with the Highlands Ranch Cultural Affairs Association (“CAA”) to help promote educational, artistic, musical, theatrical and dance events to all of the community’s residents.

Community Events:

There are very few communities besides Highlands Ranch that can say their neighborhood association provides more than 100 community and special events to residents each and every year. The HCRA works diligently to provide both large and small events to the community in order to promote a sense of neighborhood pride and family-oriented entertainment. Some examples of large events that the HCRA organizes include a July 4th Celebration, Easter Egg Hunt, Oktoberfest, Highlands Ranch Days, Arts Festival, and “Rodeo in the Ranch.”
