Tired of Renting

I'm tired of renting, but uncomfortable about taking the leap and buying my own home.

I love it here in Healdsburg - can't think of living anywhere else, really - but a fixer-upper is well over $400,000!  I just can't afford it.

And I'm also totally sick of renting.  I can't do what I want without upsetting my landlords (who live on the same property as my studio apartment).

  • Can't smoke a cigar out back...
  • Can't use the hot tub...
  • Can't get my own phone line...

Sigh...the rent's really cheap though.  And my writing business and web site - just don't pay much more than the bills.  So I guess I'll have to grin and bear it.

Anyway, I'm through venting.

Peace and Love,

Doug,
Fixer uppers in Healdsburg, are now coming on the market in the $299,000. range. Not many, but they are out there. There was recently one on Spruce, and one on Oakleaf. They did get multiple offers, but there are lower priced properties every once in a while in our wonderful zip code. I sold a little fixer upper on Bailhache in June for $225,000. that even had a separate writing studio on the property. If you are serious about getting something of your own, interest rates are substantially below 5% right now, and it would be a good move to speak with a lender and see what kind of a payment you would qualify for. If you are truly just venting, I respect that. All the best to you.
