So how does my participation on the site help my ranking as a top realtor in my area?? It seems answering questions will not be a factor anymore.

The website is becoming less organic since it has established popularity. Is this becoming a pay for space site??
By Jeanne Feenick - New Jersey,  Thu Mar 19 2009, 05:19
Hi James, I'm beginnning to think you've hit the nail on the head - the advantage of participation is unclear to me as well. I've still not gotten a response to my question about sorting Top Voices by state. When I go to "Find a Pro", I see no way to sort by response rate either.

To Truia I say - if you are diminishing the value of your site to the participants that have contributed most to the very content that has been central to your success, I believe you are making a marketing blunder. If the idea here, which I sense it is, is to hook and then take away, and then offer it out for pay, then the strategy is predictable and discouraging - though I was considering joining TruliaPro in '09, I think I'll reconsider now.

I find the strategy thinly veiled - first Top Trulia Voices was highly visible and it was that visibility, ability to attract, and track, that drew to me to the site and encouraged my participation. Then it moved, and now seems to have disappeared. I for one, am not pleased, nor impressed with the strategy. Trulia is great because its content is great - listen to what your top contributors are telling you - and get Top Voices back in play, easily visible and easily sorted to provide value to your top contributors and relevance to your users.

Thank you,
Jeannie Feenick

Thank you for your comments James and Jeanne. Participating on Trulia Voices will always be the main factor when it comes to ranking as a top professional in your area. We've added a filter to Find a Pro that allows you to sort the results by Most Activity and thus show the Top Voices for whatever location being searched. As of tomorrow we'll also link to those results from every Trulia Voices page. I encourage you to look for this link tomorrow under the Meet Trulia Voices Members module on the right side of the site and to let us know what you think about both of these additions.

We do want to reward our top contributors. We currently promote the most valuable users in our Agent Newsletter and we are working on new ways to make sure that the most active and most valuable contributors are easily identified and get more on-site promotion. Please do continue to share your feedback with us so we can keep it in mind for these future developments.

Can we ad a most thumbs up section at the bottom. It is personal, I don't answer the most questions but a lot of people like my answers.
By Dunes,  Fri Apr 10 2009, 08:27
This New Trulia in my opinion is just a move in the direction opposite of why I contribute. Trulia has shown it is far more interested in attracting Pros by making it easier to promote themselves, any claim of Trulia doing this for the consumer is inaccurate/misleading/untrue in my opinion when I look at this set up. No fight to stop you from me nor do I have any interest in hearing more of the company issued reasoning or PR statements of how this was all in the interest of the consumer. I think I've contributed enough REAL information to earn the right before finding a new place to provide that info to say....... This entire decision/strategy/direction only has perhaps one enjoyable aspect to it. I watched Zillow do it's fancy button thing and it's amusing to see Trulia felt the need to follow.

@ David - Thank you for your question, though I'm not quite sure what you mean about 'add[ing] a most thumbs up section at the bottom'. Are you suggesting that we allow users to search for members with the most thumbs up or ... If you could clarify that I'll be glad to share it with our team.

@ Dunes - I'm very sorry to hear that you're not pleased with our new look. I've sent you an email in the hopes that we can pinpoint exactly what it is that rubs you the wrong way. We certainly don't want to disappoint our nonprofessional members - especially our very own armchairquarterback.

Thank you both!

I am a licensed realtor and have recently joined your site. I was wondering how I get my profile and photo that I have submitted, to the outside world? I see other agents but not mine. Please advise. Thank you.

New at this site and trying to find my way around. I would like to be noticed with my business as other agents are. Maybe I am missing something. Please advise. Thank you.
By Emily of Trulia,  Thu May 21 2009, 11:11
Hi Mary-ann. It looks like you're our first Real Estate Pro in New Pt Richey, FL. If anyone uses our Find a Pro directory to search for agents in that area, they'll find you on this page: http://www.trulia.com/voices/directory/New_Pt_Richey---26898

I'm wondering why some of the agents featured on "Pick a Pro" don't have photos, last names, nor a profile. Does this really classify them as a pro? And how do they get selected?
By Emily of Trulia,  Mon Jul 27 2009, 14:31
Thanks for the question Terri. Anyone who lists themselves as a real estate professional is included in our Find a Pro search results automatically. Those who's profiles are less complete than others are generally not active on Trulia Voices at this time and will thus rank lower within those search results however. Please let us know if you have any other questions or feedback for us.

I am looking for an empty lot in Fremont area. How can I find the information about that?
By Emily of Trulia,  Thu Jul 30 2009, 09:09
Hi Sue,

You can search for lot and land properties in Fremont directly from our homepage. Here's a link to the results of that search: http://www.trulia.com/for_sale/Fremont,CA/LOT|LAND_type/
You can use the filters on the left side of the page to refine the list by price or other criteria to suit your needs. I hope this helps you. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
