Canadians Have New Options To Stay Longer In US With Retiree Visa

Judging from the number of Canadian License plates cruising on Gulf of Mexico Drive to Ringling Boulevard and out to Tamiami Trail the already substantial Canadian seasonal population with their own vehicles may be joined by an increasing number of their neighbors if changes in the US immigration law are passed. The US Senate is currently considering changing the requirements for Canadians ages 55 and older to stay in the United States for as long as 8 months. The requirements include a still to be defined Canadian Retiree Visa along with a second home or long term lease on a residence in the States. The international boundary is blurring and many soon to be Canadian retirees are wondering if their Province of residence will be easing the six month touch back required to preserve their national health insurance.

Take note: Americans live longer in Florida and if you would like to join the vibrant population, contact me for residential relocation assistance.
