  • Why staging your home might help

    Posted Under: Design & Decor in Milwaukee County  |  January 22, 2010 10:03 AM  |  1,728 views  |  5 comments
When I got this listing this is the way the kitchen looked. We talked about why their home might not have sold with the past agent.
We did a little staging by taking down the wall paper and repainting the room and adding new curtains. This make this room shine for the new buyer.
The living room looked like this. Now it is like This!
Do you think it changed. This is why you need to do little things to help your home sell. They had the couch an other spot and we added a few pillows updated the drapes added some pictures and here you are. This home SOLD!!!
Next time you are looking to sell your home work with an agent that will get it done.

  • Has the tided changed in the real estate market?

Milwaukee real estateWe have seen homes sit on the market through the winter months wondering if things were ever going to change. Were the buyers ever going to come back. But now we have seen the change starting to change. Since January the traffic has increase and the deals are being made. The inventory is going down and we are now seeing excepted offers in our MLS.
Is it still a buyers market. Well I would say yes. But how would you define a buyers market. Are you able to offer 20% less for a home and someone will take it. No that is not happening. Price are down because the market went way down. Seller that really don't like the prices are not listing their homes. They feel they have lost so much money that they will wait it out.
OK let's think about that. So they wait for the prices to go back up. Are you looking to buy a new home? If you have answered yes. If you wait who are you really helping is the banks that we have all grown to not like. If you purchase a house for more who wins the banks. If you are not going to stay in the housing market. Now is not the time for you to sell. When prices go up so will the next home you are looking at will also go up. If you bought your home in the last few years you may not be able to move because you bought it at the top of the market. Yes you are going to have to wait. But if you have been in your home for a while and are thinking about moving up or down now maybe be the time to put your home on the market because they buyers are out looking and buying. So the Milwaukee real estate market is moving again.
