Scotts Mill, Apex..Where Else Would You Rather Be?

Scotts Mill is a wonderful neighborhood in Apex just off RT 55 and Salem Street exit of RT 64. It doesn't get any better than this if you are looking for wooded lots, homes with lots of character in an ideal location. Scotts Mill features homes built from the late 90’s through 2009 situated on lots with an average of a ¼ of an acre, a rare find this close to Downtown Apex. The community offers both townhomes and detached homes ranging in square footage to accommodate all. Imagine homes with beautiful mature landscaping, lush shrubbery, lots of beautiful trees and plenty of privacy.

Homes in Scotts Mill were built with many different exteriors and design features, two story Charleston style homes can be found alongside Victorian inspired homes, Tudor homes alongside Dutch Colonial, definitely not a cookie cutter neighborhood.  A lot of the homes for sale in Scotts Mill have been updated to reflect the desires of today’s buyers, new bathroom fixtures, kitchen upgrades, and stainless steel appliances. If you like to be outside enjoying the peace and quiet of big shaded decks and patios or if you have an interest in gardening you will find homes in Scotts Mill that meet your needs.

Students in this area generally attend the highly ranked Apex Elementary, Lufkin Middle School and Apex High School.  WCPSS has policies that for the last ten years have given families maximum flexibility with Student Placement.  Because of this, students attending Public School in Scotts Mill may also attend one of the many Magnet Schools or year round Schools located nearby.  We always suggest that you check with WCPSS before making any decision about student placement due to changing base school s and area test scores.  

Sixty homes sold in Scotts Mill in 2012, some sold in as little as seven days and the average home was only on the market for less than three months, indicating a popular neighborhood. Average sale price was $215,000 giving an average price per square foot of $108, townhomes sold from $125,000 to $242,000 and detached homes sold from $194,000 to $339,000.Omega HOA maintains the community with annual dues being $432 or $36 a month. The neighborhood amenities include an Olympic size swimming pool, playground, volley ball and tennis courts, club house and a mini shopping center geared for the residents of Scotts Mill.

The community of Scotts Mill is ideally located for commuters to Research Triangle Park, Downtown Raleigh, Raleigh Durham International Airport as it is minutes from the new I540 Outer Beltline and High House Rd.

Beaver Creek offers major retailers such as Target, Kohl’s, AC Moore, Office Max, Old Navy, TJ Maxx/Home Goods and a movie theatre. Beaver Creek is a dynamic fast growing retail, professional space and residential area just down the road from downtown Apex where the dining options are endless, Anna’s Pizzeria for Italian, La Rancherita for Mexican, and Peak City Grill for the finer fair. After a delicious meal head on over to the Ice Cream Shop, Common Ground Coffee Shop or Buttercream Bakery for an after dinner treat.
