  • Take a Tour Around Nocatee - The “Peaceful River” Town in Ponte Vedra, Florida

Posted Under: General Area in Ponte Vedra, Schools in Ponte Vedra, Home Buying in Ponte Vedra  |  June 25, 2012 7:48 AM  |  321 views  |  No comments

We were very lucky to have Nocatee’s Marketing Director Portland Swan join us for a look into the growing neighborhoods of the Nocatee community. Our first video above serves to introduce you to Nocatee and see what makes it a great place to call home. In our future videos, we’ll tour amenities and meet up with the builders of Nocatee.

Seven unique neighborhoods make up the large community of Nocatee, offering single family homes, condominiums, townhomes, and cottage-style homes in the town center. The community features shopping, recreation and most importantly, highly-rated schools! Each neighborhood has a variety of architectural designs, builders and price ranges available. Portland describes each individual neighborhood and what makes them each unique.

The location of Nocatee in Northeast Florida is one of the most desirable features. It’s situated three miles from the Atlantic Ocean, 12 miles from St. Augustine and 20 miles from downtown Jacksonville. More than 60 percent of the land (nearly 9,000 acres) has been dedicated to conservation and preservation of the natural environment. The Nocatee preserve has 3.5 miles of frontage on the Intracoastal Waterway for the water lovers out there! In the video, Portland says it’s one of the only new master-planned communities in St. Johns County that is convenient to the beach and affordable for your family!

St. Johns County Schools are a major draw for homebuyers. Our A-rated schools are incredible! In addition, Nocatee’s developers have committed land for 9 public schools with the hope that eventually most kids will have a school walking or biking distance from their home. Right now, your children are zoned for Ocean Palms Elementary or PVPV/Rawlings, Alice B. Landrum Middle School, and Ponte Vedra High School or Allen D. Nease High School.

For more information on Nocatee in Ponte Vedra, FL or to tour the community yourself please give one of our Davidson Realty agents a call at 904.940.5000. We hope you enjoy the video!
  • Meet New Principal Mrs. Jarrell and Take a Tour of Wards Creek Elementary School in St. Augustine, FL!

Posted Under: Schools in Saint Augustine, Home Buying in Saint Augustine, In My Neighborhood in Saint Augustine  |  April 25, 2012 8:37 AM  |  493 views  |  No comments

We hope you enjoy the video above of the new Principal at A-rated Wards Creek Elementary School in World Golf Village taking us on a tour of her school! We got a private tour, while the kids were off having fun for Spring Break.

Wards Creek Elementary is a top performing school in St. Johns County, which is the top performing school district in Florida. We are so proud to have Wards Creek in World Golf Village and so lucky Mrs. Jarrell is now heading the school. Mrs. Jarrell explains that Wards Creek’s success is based on strong academics and strong character. All students, pre-kindergarten through 5th grade, have embraced Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” becoming a Franklin Covey “Leader in Me” School, which helps students develop essential life skills and character. The school is working towards Lighthouse Status. There are only 24 Lighthouse Schools in the nation!

Wards Creek was built in 2007 with each classroom filled with the latest in technology, including audio assist. Mrs. Jarrell’s tour really shows how inviting and advanced Wards Creek is. It allows for a safe environment for learning for the residents of World Golf Village.

We are so blessed to have someone as intelligent and passionate as Mrs. Jarrell leading our school. For more information on Wards Creek or relocating to our St. Augustine golf course community, please contact a Davidson Realty Realtor at (904) 940-5000 or email info@davidsonrealtyinc.com
  • St. Johns County Schools – Top 1,000 Best Schools in America!

Posted Under: General Area in Saint Augustine, Quality of Life in Saint Augustine, Schools in Saint Augustine  |  July 18, 2011 8:26 AM  |  496 views  |  No comments
St. Johns County Schools are truly amazing! They are constantly receiving such great accolades year after year and we couldn’t be prouder to have them in and near our St. Augustine golf course community. It came as no surprise to me to read in a recent Newsweek Magazine that three St. Johns County schools are in the top 1,000 best schools in America.

Nease High School, Bartram Trail High School, and Creekside High School are all on the list! Nease placed #208, Creekside at #237, and Bartram at #292. Congratulations!

Newsweek has changed it’s testing criteria this year by concentrating on six different components – College matriculation rate (24%), AP tests per graduated (25%), graduation rate (25%), average SAT/ACT score (10%), average AP/IB scores (10%), and AP courses per graduate (5%).

St. Johns County Schools have also ranked first or second in the state again in grade-level categories of reading, math and science. All of these amazing recognitions are really a testament to the fact that people live in our area not just for the great weather/lifestyle, but for an outstanding education. These recognitions are directly related to our wonderful teachers and Superintendent of Schools for St. Johns County, Dr. Joyner, so we would like to thank all of them for doing their job so well and for making St. Johns County such an amazing place to live!
  • St. Johns County Elementary School Update

Posted Under: General Area in Saint Augustine, Schools in Saint Augustine, Home Buying in Saint Augustine  |  April 25, 2011 11:58 AM  |  427 views  |  No comments

The north St. John’s County area is proud of its A-rated school system and welcomes some of the latest changes taking place despite decreasing budgets. Mill Creek Elementary has a new two-story expansion that is nearly completed, which will give it 16 new classrooms and a flexible design that features the latest technology and gives them functional breakout spaces.  This new building will welcome students at the start of the 2011/2012 school year.

Maintaining an excellent academic score is difficult in this day and time with rampant budget cuts, however our schools remain top in the state of Florida and even in the country.  This accomplishment does not go unnoticed by potential buyers when relocating and looking for a good area to move their family.

The St. Johns County School Board recently announced its plans for a new elementary school to be located in Palencia.  The plan calls for the school to open for the 2013/2014 school year.  The budget for the new elementary school is $16 million and will help to alleviate the load on Mill Creek Elementary, which currently has more than 1,000 students and will be located next to the Palencia Park.

St. Johns County’s emphasis on its education program makes it an attractive place for families moving to the World Golf Village and the north St. Johns County area.
