State of Georgia now investing in Fort McPherson

Governor Nathan Deal and the state of Georgia are looking at investing $28 million in the Fort McPherson site.  Georgia is looking at buying the Reserve Command building and using it to locate about 1,000 state employees.  They are also considering renovating the old FORSCOM building and using for Georgia’s new public/private partnership, the Georgia Institute for Public Health.  This would be an important investment for the site.  Everyone agrees the site can be a great resource for the area but with the economy down beginning this development has been slow.  We’ll keep an eye on how things develop and keep you posted.  You can get more details from this article from AJC.com.
