Escape from NYC - Find Peace in Woodstock
I love New York City, but sometimes the stress of the daily grind puts me at the end of my twine - and I have a lengthy twine!Â
I jump in my car and battle a vast array of drivers who don't understand that the lines on road separting the lanes are there for a reason. Even with all of the craziness...I start to feel the stress slip away each minute I am sitting bumper to bumper on the FDR. I listen to the radio through the crackling - my antennae was stolen on my quiet Brooklyn block - and let the horn blasts from surrounding cars roll off my back.Â
I am ESCAPING! I stop for gas on the Palisades Parkway after crossing the GWB - NJ gas tax is cheaper and I love that! I've got a little less than 2 hours before I reach my destination and am daydreaming of the jasmine smells that will fill the air. I'm off the NYS Thruway and in the home stretch now.
I stop for some groceries at Hurley Ridge Market and then for a couple of my favorite things at Sunfrost Market on Route 212. One more mile and I'm home. Sure there are lots of things to do in Woodstock, but right now I am going to listen to the wind and rain all weekend.Â
That's why I Escape to Woodstock!
Peace, love and escapism!
