Saturday was military appreciation day. As I sat down with a couple of newly found clients (about to list their house) we chatted for a while about his 20+ year service in the Army. I thanked him with a very firm handshake.
After that we got on the subject of my health over the past 5-6 weeks. I had gone through an emergency surgery on my colon. During my hospital stay a childhood friend had past away. I'm very sad to say I missed his funeral as I was in the hospital. He was a West Valley City Police Officer. He had served two tours in Afghanistan. I knew him all through junior high and high school. Recently in the past year or so we had chatted on the phone and reconnected through Facebook. I wish we had really got together face to face. I still owe you lunch MIKE VALDES. The world has lost a very good man.
As I left the listing appointment I realized how important it is for us to thank the men and women that serve us relentlessly day after day after day...they come home and want to be normal and just be loved. So on this day I thanked both people I came face to face with that had served. I challenge you all in the next 2 weeks. Find someone and personally thank them. We all owe them lunch.
