Bryan and College Station, Texas haven't truly been affected like other parts of the country with the mortgage crisis and falling home values. Though Texas, in and of itself, has been only moderately affected, our market is even more insulated with much of the traffic in and out of our cities being powered by Texas A&M University. Values have risen a modest 3-5% per year for the last several years and gave indications of going higher in the last year.
Interestingly June was a huge month in our Bryan-College Station home market. June 2008 was the strongest month with the most sales in the last seven year period in our area. Home prices are up modestly, but not too much and the interest rates remain relatively steady at 6.5% or below.
If you are thinking of buying a home now is the time! With sales going stong and interest on the rise home prices are only going to go up in Bryan and College Station.
