One of the great things about living in the Sacramento region is its
close proximity to many amazing vacation destinations. Within a few hour
drive you can visit beautiful Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, the wine
country, and more.
Today I’d like to talk about Yosemite National Park. Yosemite covers
nearly 1,200 square miles. The park is famous for its amazing granite
cliffs, beautiful waterfalls, and Giant Sequoia trees. Yosemite Valley
occupies only about 1% of the park but it is the most visited area in
the park. The Valley is only about a 3 ½ hour drive from Sacramento.
Some of the amazing views in Yosemite Valley are El Capitan, Yosemite
Falls, and Half Dome. El Capitan is a massive 3,000-foot vertical
granite rock formation that is a challenge to many rock climbers.
Yosemite Falls rates as the sixth highest waterfall in the world
spanning a total of 2,425 feet from the top of the upper falls to the
base of the lower falls. Half Dome rises 4,800 feet above the valley
I went on a recent hike up to the top of Half Dome and I couldn’t help
but be reminded of how that translates into some life situations,
particularly in real estate short sales. The hike to the top of Half
Dome takes all day. It is long and arduous. It is uphill. It never seems
to end. But when you get there, it’s a very rewarding feeling that you
get. You get spectacular views
of the valley and its just a great overall feeling to have done it!
Like anything in life, sometimes you just have to keep at it.
