Last night American Idol fans got a dose of country, courtesy of top four finalist Scotty McCreery. The L.A. Times reports that the singer choose to sing Alan Jackson’s “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)?”, in response to counsel from judge Jennifer Lopez about the importance of selecting songs that connect with the viewers at home. After the recent killing of Osama Bin Laden, Jackson’s September 11 tribute is sure to have resonated with the audience, and McCreery remains an Idol top favorite.
Over in Franklin, Tennessee however, it looks like Alan Jackson hasn’t managed to form a connection with his Tuscan villa. The country crooner purchased the lavish pad in June, 2010 for $3,675,000, and put it right back on the market less than five months later for $3,995,000.
The 14,040 square-foot mansion includes 8 bedrooms, 8 full baths, 2 partial baths, a wine cellar, theater, gym, workshop, and a 6 car garage. There’s also an elevator to transport guests to and from all those rooms, and outside resides a gorgeous saltwater pool and spa and an outdoor kitchen. Who knew that country livin’ could be so good?
