Nicolas Cage Sells Middletown, Rhode Island Mansion for $6.2 Million
Nicolas Cage may be expanding his acting resume – he’s already starred in two releases this year, Season of the Witch and Drive Angry, and several more films are in post production and on their way to the big screen – but his real estate portfolio is taking a turn in the opposite direction. After spending a reported $33 million on homes in Newport Beach and Bel Air, California, Middletown, Rhode Island, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Las Vegas, Nevada, Cage ran into some IRS and foreclosure issues, and has since sold many of his properties at a loss. The latest is his property in Middletown, which has recently sold at $6.2 million, a whopping 60% less than the $15.7 million he paid for it back in 2007.
The exquisite 24,000 square-foot English country mansion features 12 bedrooms, 10 full baths, 3 partial baths, a gourmet kitchen, library, conservatory, and a billiard room. The manor offer views of nearby Nelson Pond and the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the lush landscaping, pool, and tennis court to be found on the almost 30 acre estate.
