Music Mogul L.A. Reid Drops $18 Million On A Bel Air Mansion

The R&B tycoon’s new estate definitely has that “X Factor.”

It’s good to be L.A. Reid these days! The Hollywood music mogul and former The X Factor judge, known for his work with acts like Mariah Carey, Kanye West, and Jennifer Lopez, just spent $17.99 million on a seven-bed, 10-bath estate in ritzy Bel Air. The piece of Los Angeles, CA, real estate hit the market last summer for $27.5 million, followed by a price cut down to $20 million, the Los Angeles Times reports. So at $17.99 million, it looks as though L.A. Reid is getting a nice li’l bargain.

In traditional mega-mogul real estate fashion, this palatial pad is a sight to be seen. The 11,246-square-foot property, which was just built in 2015, is an architectural marvel that embraces true California luxury. The home features an open floor plan along with cozy accents like four fireplaces, a family room, and a den, as well as more luxurious amenities like a gym, elevator, 300-bottle glass wine cellar, and home theater with an en-suite bar. Oh, and two floating glass staircases, because luxuries are always better in pairs.

Retractable walls of glass lead to the meticulously landscaped outdoor entertainment area, where L.A. Reid can throw parties for his many Hollywood connections. The backyard also features an outdoor kitchen and bar, along with an infinity pool and spa. But the home’s most spectacular quality may be the tranquil view overlooking the stunning canyons and bright lights of Los Angeles, plus the serene Pacific Ocean.

Naturally, this isn’t L.A. Reid’s only property. Music moguls aren’t that into minimalism! He also owns properties in Manhattan and The Hamptons, NY. Maybe his new West Coast digs are a gift to himself after the release of his tell-all book, Sing to Me, earlier this year.
