Andie MacDowell Selling Country Club Estate in North Carolina

Celebrity real estate often centers around the entertainment hubs of Los Angeles and New York City, but every now and again, you’ll run across some spectacular celebrity property in off-the-beaten-path cities across America. In Asheville, North Carolina, you’ll find the newly for-sale home of Andie MacDowell, the famous face of L’oreal and actress from well-known flicks like Groundhog DayMultiplicity and St. Elmo’s Fire.

Originally from South Carolina, MacDowell stayed relatively close to home when she purchased her property in the upscale Biltmore Forest community outside Asheville back in June 1998 for $790,000. Her original purchase included  two vacant and adjacent parcels totaling 1.89 acres on the 7th fairway of the neighboring country club. MacDowell proceeded to build a magnificent, four-story, storybook Tudor that measures in at 10,872 square-feet. Now for sale with a list price of $4,500,000, the home includes 6-bedrooms, 7.5-bathrooms and 6 fireplaces. Built with meticulous craftsmanship and superb artistic detail, the home has an air of timelessness and modern ease. To take in the scenery of the surrounding area, MacDowell’s home also features a one-of-a-kind expansive terrace.
