What gives a home Curb Appeal?

What gives a home Curb Appeal?

Anyone who has looked for a new home knows what they like, and what they don't.  If you are selling your home give your home Curb Appeal.  Curb appeal you ask, what is that?  That is the zing, the wow factor, the look  that when someone drives by sees.  Make your home stand out with these tips to get your home in tip top fashion to sell faster.  You only have 10-15 seconds for someone to form an opinion of your home - good or bad.  Make it one that counts.

 1. Lush Lawn

Your neighbors will be green with envy. Try laying fresh sod to spruce up your lawn.
Tip: Rake the area before laying sod to ensure that the ground is level and that all larger pebbles, rocks and sticks are removed from the area.

2. Walkways & Paths

Creating a walkway or path in your lawn out of stone creates a classy look to welcome visitors.
Tip: Try something different. Walkways can be straight, curved or zigzagged, with each design giving off a drastically different look and feel.

3. Walls

Create dimension to a flat yard by adding a retaining wall to a lawn. Be on the safe side and consult with a professional for any walls over two feet tall.
Tip: Before you start digging, make sure you know where your utility lines are.

4. Landscape in Layers

Don't let your garden flat line. Add variety to your lawn by alternating between low, mid-size and tall plants throughout.
Tip: Do your homework. Figure out what plants will thrive in your area year round so you have a garden that survives the seasons.

5. Go Big with Planters

Supersize your planters to add a touch of the dramatic to your entryway or garden.
Tip: Make sure your planter has adequate drainage. Put a layer of pebbles or rocks in the bottom of the containers before filling them with soil. This will help prevent overwatering, disease, fungus, gnats and other problems.

6. Add Some Color

Newly planted flowers or plants can bring any drab garden to life.
Tip: When selecting flowers, look for flowers with upright, firm petals and buds beginning to open. Yellow, spotted or drooping leaves are signs of age.

Remeber, Curb appeal helps  you sell faster and buyers will fall in love with your home if they think you show the love to your yard.
