This year’s drought continues to take its toll on Central Texas and it has left most of Austin’s homeowners with weather-weary front yards and landscapes full of dying grass and empty flowerbeds. Thankfully, the DIY Network’s series, “Desperate Landscapes †is heading to the rescue.
The hit home improvement series is heading to Austin to rehabilitate and redesign a “desperate landscape†for a local homeowner. In just eight hours, Jason Cameron —DIY Network’s licensed contractor and host of “Desperate Landscapesâ€â€”along with an whole crew of dedicated workers, will transform a lucky Austinite’s front yard from an eyesore into the pride of the neighborhood—all completely free of cost.
And Executive Producer Jay Shatz says they’re looking for more than just a burned out front lawn. “Our team wants to tackle huge construction projects and really transform the front of the house,†Shatz says.
Along with a yard that needs tending, producers want to capture Austin’s unique spirit and are hoping to cast homeowners with uniquely fun or funky personalities who would be comfortable in front of the camera.
If you think you fit the bill or know someone who does, send a picture or Youtube video of the homeowner and landscape in question to casting@Jaytv.net. For more information visit JayTV.net. Deadline is December 9th.
