Nashville Ranked Smartest City

The Daily Beast has named Nashville one of the smartest cities coming in at #19.  While they have completely different rationale for our city being smart, the top three reasons I would give it for being a smart city are:

1.  Mayor Dean's quest to make Nashville the Greenest City in the South.  Already seeing progress with Deaderick as the state's first "Green Street" will solar parking meters, treed center and large green areas.

2.  The general notion that Nashville is a small, big city.  You get great opera, professional major level sports and world class ALL MINUS the crazy traffic, $25/day parking fees and accompanying filth.

3.  Nashville is affordable.  With a average home price of in the mid-$150Ks, you get a great place, a great neighborhood and a solid investment.

Glad to see great cities like Columbus, OH, Raleigh, NC, Seattle, WA and Portland, OR on the list with us.  Chicago...sorry we beat you.  Maybe we should go for the Olympics.
