When we consider moving (which we know everyone hates), we also consider the wasteful nature of a move. Think about it – all those boxes you’ll never use again, the amount of gas used to transport your gigantic truck from one end of the city to the other – it’s not exactly great for the environment. Most moving companies aren’t exactly concerned with their carbon footprints, understandably. They have more important things on their mind, like how to get your baby grand into the freight elevator of your new home.
However, one company is changing things, and going green, all the way! iMoveGreen, the only moving company in the country that’s partnered with the EPA, is here to move your beloved trinkets and furniture to your new home in a way that’s totally eco-friendly.
What’s green about them? For starters, they use biodegradable packing materials and reusable plastic boxes for transport; their business facility is completely powered by wind energy; the company vehicles are washed with recycled water and green cleaners, and all the surveyors drive a hybrid Toyota Prius.
Another green endeavor is their partnership with the Nature Conservancy, in which a percentage of the proceeds from each move go to planting trees in the Brazilian rainforest. The company also wants to inform their customers about green living, so they offer each customer a Green Starter Kit, which includes a reusable tote, coffee mug, green-living brochure and housewarming plant.

We’ll definitely be ditching Schleppers and Moishe’s for iMoveGreen next time we make the trek. What about you? Would you consider moving with iMoveGreen?
