I will add to this, 4. Not getting the advice of a good accountant! It's so important to know what's going on with your taxes, setting up quaterly payments, understanding write-offs, etc. Whether or not you use an accountant to file every year, at least meet with someone initially to get a leg up on your financial situation.

So, so true Christopher. Our Keller Williams office is holding an Agent Financials class next week with an expert. We have to know for tax purposes and also for business planning purposes. Too many of us just think of selling a house instead of running a real estate business for ourselves. The more I get better with this mindset, the more money we make.

#4 -- find the best tax expert you can and make sure you are meeting with them on a regular basis to maximize your tax deductions.
