The Beastie Boys’ Adam Horovitz, aka Ad-Rock, picked up a two-bedroom, three-bathroom co-op in Chelsea for $2.95 million, according to city records.

The 2,500-square-foot loft at 129 West 22nd Street, between Sixth and Seventh avenues, hit the market for the same price in April. BJ Engler, Peter Denby and Julia Boland of Halstead Property had the listing.

The 10th-floor loft has 11-foot-high ceilings and oak floors. The building was conceived as a sewing factory in 1909.

Horovitz used to live in a Soho townhouse at 186 Spring Street, until he sold it to developer Stephane Boivin last year for $5.5 million. Boivin, who is developing a mixed-use condominium project there, is facing a $5.6 million foreclosure suit by an investment firm that claims he demolished the property without permission, as previously reported. The seven-time Emmy-winning writer and producer David Chase has picked up a penthouse once owned by the late author and activist Susan Sontag in West Chelsea’s London Terrace Gardens for $9.65 million, according to the Real Estalker. The celebrity-heavy building has housed at different times such notables as Debbie Harry, Tim Gunn, Rufus Wainwright, Katherine Helmond, Nicole Kidman and “Saturday Night Live” cast members Chris Kattan and Bill Hade.

The 20th floor, 2,700-square-foot penthouse was sold by Sontag’s estate in 2006 for $3.95 million to interior designer William Diamond. Diamond had gutted the unit, but was unable to complete his renovation after losing his money in Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme, and eventually sold the apartment in 2009 for $4.4 million.

In 2011, Chase picked up another Chelsea home for $6.95 million, a five-bedroom, four-story townhouse on West 22nd Street, which sold last June. And according to the New York Post, Chase was spotted this week touring morning-show host Kelly Ripa’s 76 Crosby Street penthouse, listed for $24.5 million. [RES, NYP] –Christopher Cameron

New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter is considering renting a five-bedroom, four-bathroom duplex in the Chelsea Quarter Condominium, the New York Post reported. After revealing back in April that he intends to downsize to a Manhattan pied-a-terre, Jeter recently viewed a 4,000-square-foot apartment, located at 129 West 20th Street, which is asking $25,000 a month. A source described the unit to the Post, as being “like a private home on top of a loft building,”

Citi Habitats’ Jason Saft has the listing.

As The Real Deal previously reported, the shortstop recnetly sold his 5,425-square-foot, 88th floor penthouse apartment at the Trump World Tower at 845 United Nations Plaza for $15.5 million. Jeter also owns a 30,000-square-foot Tampa mansion, dubbed St. Jetersburg. [NYP] –
