James Gandolfini’s will, quietly filed in Manhattan Surrogate’s Court Tuesday, leaves his son first dibs on the “Sopranos†star’s Greenwich Street condominium in Tribeca, the New York Post reported.
Michael, 13, stands to inherit the bulk of Gandolfini’s estate, which will go through a trust set aside for him until he turns 21. The trust allows the younger Gandolfini a first option to purchase his father’s right, title and interest in Unit 5C at 429 Greenwich Street, which comes complete with a parking space, at the unit’s “fair market value.â€
“It is my hope and desire that they will continue to own said property and keep it in our family for as long as possible,†the elder Gandolfini stated in the 17-page document.
Michael and his half-sister will also share their father’s estate in Italy, splitting it 50-50 when Liliana, now 8 months old, turns 25. Gandolfini also owned, at the time of his death, a $1.1 million home in California, N.J., and a $7 million, 3,000-square-foot duplex penthouse in the Fairchild Building in Tribeca, neither of which was specifically mentioned in the will.
