During the final phase of a new construction of a home at Powder Mountain, UT the builder requested an infrared energy audit with a blower door test. The primary reason was to find any outside air penetration and areas of insulation deficiencies. I was immediately impressed with the overall air tightness of this home. This 3,800 sq ft home had air leakage of around 1,200 cfm, an incredibly tight home. Every wall and ceiling was warm and packed with insulation. If you are seeking a builder for your new "green" home in Northern Utah - I highly recommend Solitude Builders, 801-452-5020, let Carson Young build your new home.

  • The best Piñon dead fall firewood in Utah – delivered and stacked!

Posted Under: General Area in Salt Lake City, Quality of Life in Salt Lake City, Home Buying in Salt Lake City  |  September 23, 2013 3:37 PM  |  547 views  |  No comments

The best Piñon firewood in Utah was delivered to me yesterday. This aged dead fall pinion came just in time for the cold front coming through here tonight. This is the best pinyon that I have come across in years. It has that great grey lizard skin bark. It’s dense, thick and heavy with its own built in turpentine so it’s almost self starting. It will be smelling like Santa Fe or Taos around my house this winter. Who doesn’t love the smell of Piñon. Great firewood, free delivery, free stacking – call Jerry at Rancho Firewood at 801-634-9390. Accept no substitutes – this is the REAL STUFF, the original Rancho dead fall pinon firewood

Just because someone tells you they have an infrared camera doesn't make them professional grade. So many people are purchasing cheap entry level $1,200 thermal imagers and claiming to do infrared inspections these days that no one questions the quality level of the results. The resolution of these cameras is around 1/273 of a megapixel which makes it very difficult to properly perform building diagnostics. When using HD infrared video and still cameras the results are astonishing. When someone solicits your business - ask them what the image resolution is.

Alamo Infrared is the leader in Infrared Building inspections exclusively using FLIR T640/620 equipment

Take a look at some infrared videos that come out of the new FLIR T640 infrared camera. With this new camera in our arsenal we can easily produce an "infrared movie" of your new home or business. It also makes it much easier to show the buyer or seller and plumbing leaks, missing insulation, roof leaks and outside air penetration.

Alamo Infrared is the only infrared building inspector using the new FLIR T629 640 cameras
