    NORTHERN CALIFORNIA RENAISSANCE FAIRE

    At the end of every summer running from Mid Sept to Mid October, Casa de Fruta (Down by Hollister)  transforms into the site of the Northern California Renaissance Faire. Find yourself transported back in time as you mingle with Knights and Nobles, Lords and Ladies and a few scoundrels as well.

    There is something for everyone and kids and adults of all ages can enjoy the festivities.  Period rides are fun for the kids and artisans from all walks peddle thir wares in the faire town of Willingtown and make sure you don't miss out on the Turkey legs for lunch.  Occasionally you might even see the "Queen" parading through the streets with her court.  Don't miss the queens tournament of Champions where Knights joust on horseback and battle for glory and honor as spectators cheer on.

  • 4th of July Fun in Danville

    Are looking for something to do in Danville on July 4th.  Why not Celebrate with 40,000 of your closest friends and come to the annual Kiwana's 4th of July Parade!!  Also, one of the largest fireworks show is held in San Ramon Central Park just a short 5-10 minute drive from Danville.

    As you can imagine with that many people it does get crowded and here are a few tips:

    1.)  You can setup your chairs along the parade route starting at 6:00PM on July 3rd.

    2.)  Parking is difficult so get there early.  Roads will be closed along the parade route from Hartz Ave to Sycamore Valley along Danville Blvd.  El Cerro is a good place to enter and look for parking down by the high school. However if you get there late your probably going to be on the east side of 680 looking for parking.  Also, Sycamore Valley East.  There is parking along Camino Ramon and maybe even the park and ride.

    3.)  Bring lots of sun screen and water.  If the sun is out it gets hot!

    July 4th Schedule

    8:30am: City of San Ramon Fun Run
    9:00am - 11:30pm: Kiwanis Danville July 4th Parade presented by Heller Jewelers
    1:00pm - 10:00pm: City of San Ramon Red, White & Blue Picnic in San Ramon Central Park
    9:30pm: City of San Ramon 4th of July Fireworks Display

    The Kiwanis Danville July 4th Parade is an incredible event which attracts over 40,000 attendees including local community residents as well as friends and family from areas far beyond Danville.  The 2011 Parade starts at 9:00am and runs from the corner of Hartz Avenue and Railroad Avenue, continues down Hartz and San Ramon Valley Boulevard and ends at the corner of San Ramon Valley Boulevard and Sycamore Valley Road.

    In 2009, parade entries included:
    • Cruisetones 1950's Band
    • California Historical Artillery Society (mounted living history from 1840-1918)
    • Chinese Lion Dance Team
    • Concord Blue Devils (band and precision drill team)
    • Precision Drill Ministries
