Ok..ok.. I know… I said I was going to update you, but my real job at selling real estate
is starting to go through the roof! So once again this got side lined.
So here is the VERY short version
May 2012: Town accepts our renovation plans and
grants us our variance (wahoo!)
June 2012: Plans go out to final bid
July 2012: Bids coming back in from contractors, each
one coming in higher than the
August 2012: Stuck and I mean STUCK… Bids come in

poop-shoot, we put the brakes on EVERYTHING.
House has now been empty for over 9 months. 9
months of mortgage payments, 9 months of taxes, 9 months of insurance…… yadda,
September 2012: Now what, we think -do we put the house back on the market
and loose all the money we have put into it so far and take a huge hit? Do we
do a mini-renovation and put it back on the market? Do we keep going forward
(nope, can’t afford that) We decide to try a new tactic and the only thing left
in our bag of tricks, we look into doing what we didn’t want to do, we look
into tearing it down and building new. Bing! We have a winner.
