Located in Nokomis, which is only about a 15 minute drive South of Sarasota, this park has a number of fun things to do. Sunbathers are in luck, because there is a phenomenal beach at the park. If you want to do more than just tan, you can also swim or surf. Lifeguards are on duty all year round. In addition to this, there is a drum circle that performs every Wednesday and Saturday for your entertainment.
Bring your boat, canoe, or kayak, and with just a short trip on the intercoastal waterway you will be in the Gulf of Mexico! The park is known as a good place to fish, and you can choose to do so on land or on the open water. Just in case you forget anything, they have a bait shop.
Be sure to bring a picnic lunch when you come! They have a very nice picnic area, equipped with tables, shelters, and grills. If you are not the picnic type, there is a concession stand, as well as a close by restaurant called the Casey Key Fish House. For a little exercise after your meal, there are horseshoe and volleyball courts on site.
It will be love at first sight when you spend a day at Casey Key's North Jetty Park.
