The third annual Bloktoberfest returns to Philadelphia this weekend. This Saturday, October 15th from 12-8pm, enjoy free food, beer, and music as Bloktoberfest takes over South Street. This year's event promises to be "Bigger, Better, Beerer" and who doesn't love that? The all-day block party takes place on South between 17th and Broad Streets and is free-to-attend.
In partnership with the South of South Neighborhood Association, South Street West Business Association, and Bella Vista Beer Distributors, Bloktoberfest will once again showcase a wide selection of beer by craft breweries from around the country, food from neighborhood vendors and food trucks, and multiple stages of live music featuring nationally recognized and emerging local acts. The event is not for profit, with beer proceeds directed back into a variety of education initiatives tied to area schools and students.
What's new this year at Bloktoberfest? While the best parts remain the same like raising money for a good cause, the planners have promised this year is going to be better than ever. The fest is going to be bigger by taking over more blocks so there's more room for attendees and vendors, offer more beer selections from a variety of breweries, and more food from the city's best food trucks and restaurants to satisfy those cravings. Beer, autumn air, good food, and a free block party on South Street. Honestly, what could be better? For more information, check out the Bloktoberfest Facebook page.
