I am selling my home FSBO. Do you think a $2500.00 commission on my 165,000.00 home is enough for a buyer agent?

Be realistic.  Please excuse me for getting directly to the point.
With so many homes for sale at discounted prices you want to not only keep your home a secret by keeping it off the MLS but you also want all the professional Realtors in your area to show your home and make about 33-50% less than they would with a listed home.

 Plus, like many FSBO"s you will probably be overpriced.

Hmmmmmmm, personally (and don't take this personal), I think you are making a BIG mistake. List your home, price it attractively and pay MORE of a commission than your competitors. Now that is a SOLID plan for selling your home.

Would you do the same job as the guy next to you, but with more responsibility on your shoulders, for a lower hourly wage? Sounds appealing to me too. Good post

FSBO never bring the accurate selling price.Not to mention 85% of buyers are working with Realtors , so we not going to show your home for about 30% of what we should be paid. So that counts out 80% of the buyers out there? Why so obstinate about hiring a Realtor? A good Realtor will net yo top dollar, and is well worth the commision. WE HAVE THE BUYERS , ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT! Got a toothache? Maybe you should tie your tooth to a door knob and slam it. IIt will work , but the pain will be unforgetable! Use a dentist , use a Realtor!

The FSBO mentality is hard to break, they are usually the wheeler dealers that like to get everything free or at a discount. Nevertheless, a professional is the person you turn to when you want the job done. And those discount commission companies that proliferated during the boom are gone and so are the losers that resorted to them. We are back with the Pro's working again.
