Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant Turns Restaurateur

Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant is getting ready to open a new restaurant in Lower Bricktown, walking distance from the Chesapeake Energy Arena where he is regularly cheered on by over 18,000 fans. Randy Hogan is developing the restaurant to be operated by the Hal Smith Restaurant group. It’s a one-story, 10,000 square foot, space coming in at around $700,000. It’s similar to the adjoining building and home to Earl’s Rib Palace and is just west of Toby’s Keith’s I Love this Bar and Grill. It will overlook the Bricktown Canal.

Durant is very excited about the opportunity. “It’s going to be cool,” he said. “It should be up probably before the beginning of next season. I’m looking forward to it.” Durant explained that the concept of the restaurant is a mix between fine dining and a sports bar. The Hal Smith Restaurant Group also operates Toby Keith’s I Love this Bar and Grill, Louie’s, Charlestons, Red Rock Canyon Grill and Mahogany Prime Steakhouse.
