    The Festival of Life Health Awareness (FOLHA) is combined with the International Festival of Life (IFOL), July 4th- 7th, 2013 Independence weekend in Union park, Chicago. Its objective is for the mobilization of victims of Cancer, Diabetes, HIV/AIDs and other diseases in a united force for the  eradication of all diseases that affecting the human bodies.

    This is truly one of Chicago most unique street festivals that not only celebrates African/Caribbean Life but recognizes the need for the world to unite as one for the betterment of all.  Everyone is welcome to this truly life changing festival that allows cultural, educational and spiritual exchange through innovative programming and a marketplace format that highlights the global spectrum of entertainment, food, fine arts, crafts, small business and corporate communities. Two themes have been adapted to the International Festival of Life: “Bringing Nations Together” and “Living Together as One”.

    Do you love country music? How about barbecue from the top restaurants around? This event will feature the best of country, with music, food, line dancing and more… and don’t forget the mechanical bull!

    Festival-goers can visit local artisan booths, featuring a wide array of mixed media and jewelry. Then stop by the food court to taste the best barbecue around.  Done shopping? This venue is ready for you to spend all day and night in the grass, as the adjacent park is used as a “Ravinia” style oasis. Throw down a blanket and grab a cold beer while enjoying everything this event has to offer.

    Attractions like the Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago History Museum, Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, and Lincoln Park Conservatory draw crowds year-round, while other hidden treasures, like the spectacular Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool, are around the corner. Magnificent mansions, swank boutiques and renowned restaurants complete the rich tapestry that is Lincoln Park.

    This neighborhood festival benefits the Mid-North Association. Mid-North Association (MNA) is a non-profit volunteer organization, established by residents in 1950 to protect and preserve the historical character and charm of our architecturally-rich community. Admission is a $5 suggested donation.
