How's the Real Estate Market?

To all,

Hardly a day goes by that someone doesn't ask me "how's the real estate market?" I usually answer starting with something like "it depends if you are buying or selling". That is still pretty true with the market continuing as something of a buyer's market...but things are changing!

I did an open house this past weekend on a great home that was priced well and had just been fully remodeled. No newspaper ads (who reads the ads anymore), but I did do a thorough Internet marketing job advertising the event. The result was over 20 families came to the open house, 2/3's of whom were interested buyers (versus neighbors who were just interested in seeing how it looked...but we still love having them stop by too!). So far, we have had 3 very good offers on the property following the open house!

Bottom line is that a properly priced home, that shows well, will sell. Buyers are very well informed and they know value when they see it. Similarly, they know an over-priced listing when they see it too! And with interest rates at record low levels and a big selection from which to choose it still is a great time to buy! So if you are thinking of selling, have your home in tip-top shape, price it right, and hire an experienced full time real estate professional to market the home for you and you will get top dollar for it!
