This week’s course is Woodland Hills Country Club and is located at 21150 Dumetz Rd, Woodland Hills, CA. Woodland Hills Country Club sits nestled in the beautiful, rolling oak covered foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains. There are four (4) sets of tee boxes at Woodland Hills Country Club, which play 6,203 from the tips and 4,937 from the front tees. The short yardage at this course can lead golfers to believe they are in for a walk in the park. However, the tees shots are very intimidating because of the tight fairways and it is well advised to keep the ball below the hole when reaching the green. The back nine is significantly longer than the front nine and can pose more of a challenge to even the most experienced golfer. Woodland Hills Country Club was designed by Billy Bell, has the feel of a traditional Donald Ross design with tight fairways and small greens.

It’s not every day you see a woman in an elf costume or a reindeer suit, but Kat Seigel is no ordinary woman.  With the hope of spreading the Christmas spirit, Kat has been dressing up for the holiday season the past 11 years. Owner of The Postal Place in Woodland Hills, Kat hopes to show her customers some Holiday cheer while staying true to her kid within.

From Thanksgiving to Christmas, Kat dresses up everyday in costumes she receives from friends and customers.  “Some people look at me and just look away because they don’t know how to deal with it,” Kat said.  “Other people say they appreciate what I am doing.”

Kat explains that this year she was most hesitant to stick with her routine.  “You know, the economy was getting me down, I was thinking about my loan business and I just didn’t want to do it again this year,” Kat explained.  “Then my partner reminded me that it’s just what we need – maybe more than ever.”

Passerby’s will certainly enjoy sharing a few words with Kat as she is particularly genuine.  Say hello to her in front of the Postal Place in Woodland Hills.

Although I didn’t get to taste it myself, the iPhone wedding cake, made by Charm City cakes for Jerry Brito’s May wedding, is one of the most incredible displays of real-life Apple adoration I’ve ever seen.

The iPhone offers users countless applications that meet their personality and a fast way to achieve desired information. However, I never had the notion to actually eat those applications. With this wedding cake you can actually eat the applications. I wonder how many iphone users will continue the trend of having this iPhone wedding cake.

D.J. Morgan of Taft High School in Woodland Hills has verbally committed to attend and play football at the University of Sothern California. Morgan is ranked by Rivals.com, a college sports recruiting site as the 64th best prospect in the country and 3rd best all purpose running back nationwide. He is drawing comparisons to his future teammate at USC, running back Joe McKnight.

Morgan is not the only player on his team drawing attention from college scouts, however. Lucky Radley and Brent Williams are also being heavily recruited to play at the college level. All three of these young men will have the opportunity to attend major Universities, earn a degree, and play football at the next level.

Alumni of the Taft High School Football program include Jeff Fisher who is the coach of the Tennessee titans and Steve Smith who won a super bowl with the New York Giants.
