Experiencing Arlington today, it can be difficult to imagine what the area must have been like over two hundred years ago when our country was much younger. Living in your Arlington home, it’s easy to forget the hardships our country had to endure to get to where it is today.
Independence Day is a time for us to remember and celebrate this great country, and there’s no better place to celebrate than just across the Potomac at Long Bridge Park, a sound redevelopment showcasing the Potomac riverscape and lush green spaces.
On Wednesday, July 4, Long Bridge Park in Arlington will host their Annual 4th of July Celebration. There will be family-friendly fun for your entire family and other Arlingtonians to share the day with.
Family Bike Parade
Start the event by getting your blood pumping with a Family Bike Parade where you can decorate your bikes and show off your patriotic spirit! At 12pm, families are invited to meet at the esplanade entrance to the park at Crystal Drive to participate in a fun run with Phoenix Bikes! Decorated bikes will be judged at the end of the ride, and prizes will be awarded.

Support our local artists and economy by choosing from an amazing variety of goods made locally by artists and craft vendors. The market will be open for your browsing pleasure from 12pm to 5pm and located on the Esplanade overlooking Roaches Run Waterfowl Sanctuary, where you can enjoy the beautiful view while shopping! Don’t miss out - The first 400 shoppers will receive a free July 4th tote bag!
Food, Food, Food
Families can choose to set up their own picnics along the riverview and anywhere in the park or enjoy the cuisine from local food vendors that will be set up in the parking lot from 12pm to 8pm. Food options include BBQ, ice cream, delicious sandwiches, and lots more.
