Hopkinton State Park 

Hopkinton State Park is actually located in both Hopkinton and Ashland and includes the picturesque Hopkinton Reservoir.  

 

With its entrance on Cedar Street just off of Route 85, Hopkinton State Park has a variety of recreational possibilities that can be enjoyed year round. The pond is stocked for fishing and there are two life guarded beaches available. 

Picnicking is also a mainstay at the park with 300 picnic tables and 165 charcoal cooking grills.  There is a 12 tree shaded area that can be had on a first come first served basis.  

Hopkinton State Park also offers 10 miles of marked trails for hiking, open fields for baseball or soccer games and a launching ramp for small non-motorized boats.  The park itself also offers seasonal boat rentals. 

The Split Rock Group picnic site is available through reservations.  This beautiful spot has a pavilion, 25 picnic tables and a large charcoal grill. Groups and organizations can reserve this area from May through September. 

 

Hopkinton State Park is one of the many pretty areas in Hopkinton and is within walking distance of the Southborough MBTA Station.

The Town Forest is another stretch of nature that adds to the ambience.  This 84 acre parcel is located on both side of Pond Street between Winter Street and Elm. An old cart road still exists running through the forest and is used for horse back riding, hiking and snowmobiling in the winter.

And, it's always comforting to see that, standing right near the edge of the forest, Smokey the Bear keeps a watchful eye on all.

Hopkinton Massachusetts - Scenic Springtime

  

Route 135 is the main street that runs through Hopkinton connecting it to Ashland to the east and Westborough on the west side of town.  Along this route is the heart of Hopkinton with its downtown area including shops and restaurants such as Hopkinton Gourmet, Bill's Pizza, The Golden Spoon and The Dynasty Chinese restaurant.

Also located on Main Street in Hopkinton is the area known as Golden Pond. This is where an extensive assistant living complex is located which sits on ten acres of picturesque restored wetlands including a pond with its own gazebo.  Park benches are situated near the pond to allow the public to stop by, feed the ducks and enjoy this pretty setting. 

Hopkinton common is the backdrop for numerous events that take place in town. It is right at the starting point of the annual Boston Marathon and all of the festivities that happen on Patriot's Day.  

On May 15 the common will be hosting The Parent Teacher Association Carnival and fun day. It is a day that promises to be filled with families enjoying games, magicians, musicians, crafts, delicious foods as well as a dunk tank. 

At this time of the year Hopkinton Common is getting ready for weekly band concerts that will take place during the warm summer months. 

Further along this route before crossing over into Ashland is the largest nursery in the area, Weston Nurseries.

Weston Nurseries in Hopkinton MA is a local landmark.  It is located on a scenic country road,Route 135 which is most noted for the beginning route of the Boston Marathon.

Ravenwood - Hopkinton Massachusetts

Located on the streets of Hidden Brick Road, Tammer Lane and Pendulum Pass in Hopkinton is the neighborhood known as Ravenwood.

Ravenwood is a Hopkinton subdivision located in the southern part of town near the Holliston line.  The homes in this upscale community were built from the 1990's into the early 2000's.  The development was built by Ron Nation, a quality Hopkinton builder who also built the community of Valleywood and is currently building luxury homes in Connelly Hill Estates.

Home sizes in Ravenwood range from 2700 square feet to over 5,000 square feet and many of the lots are well over an acre.  

The homes in this lovely subdivision feature high end finishes with marble foyers, granite counters, dual fireplaces, wainscoting and crown molding.

Oak Hill Estates - Hopkinton Massachusetts

Just off of the scenic, winding country road of Fruit Street in Hopkinton is the community of Oak Hill Estates.  

The subdivision which consists of 42 homes was originally built by Bartolini Builders, a well-known builder in the Metrowest Massachusetts area.  The first homes were built in 1997 and construction continued into 2005.

The neighborhood sits on Huckleberry Road which is a long, well-manicured cul-de-sac situated close to Route 495 with connections to Route 9 and the Massachusetts Turnpike, making Oak Hill Estates a convenient location for commuting into Boston as well as other destinations.

Highland Park - Hopkinton Massaschusetts

Highland Park is one of Hopkinton's premiere neighborhoods and one of the more popular in town. Located just off of picturesque Saddle Hill Road, Highland Park is situated next to the Hopkinton Country Club.  It is also adjacent to the neighborhood of Hopkinton Highlands.

The entrance to this lovely development begins with the streets Edgehill Road, Stoney Brook Road, and Bridgeton Way, then leading into Wedgewood Drive, Singletary Way and Riverbend Road.

Unlike many communities which were built by one primary builder, a number of builders were involved in this development, resulting in a diversification of plans and individual styles. 

Highland Park construction has taken place in a number of phases. The third phase of this development was built by Ron Roux and Hallmark Construction.  Ron Roux is a builder who has a reputation for building fine, high-end custom homes in the area. 

The fifth and sixth phases were built by Ron Roux and Prime Properties. There is yet another phase which is still to be developed and is scheduled to be built by Prime Properties.

The homes in Highland Park in age from the 1980's up into the 2000's with lot sizes at a minimum of 60,000 square feet. Home sizes are 2800 square feet to over 4500 square feet.  Amenities are numerous and varied and with superior quality evident in every part of the neighborhood.

Springwood Estates - Hopkinton Massachusetts

One of the most popular subdivisions in Hopkinton is Springwood Estates.  It is also the largest.  Comprised of the streets Gibbon, Kimball, Smith, Jackson, Bowker, Oak, Sadie Lane and Benson, the community leads into Connelly Hill Road.

With its convenient location, close to Hopkinton's public schools and devoid of highway noise, Springwood Estates is within minutes to major highways as well as the MBTA and is a favorite of buyers who are relocating to the area. 

Several builders have been responsible for the development of Springwood Estates.  Phase I was built by Anthony Umina and Aolen Development. The Kimball Road extension was built by John Burns and Phase III, Spring West was developed by Ron Nation who also built the developments Ravenwood, Roosevelt Farms and Valleywood.

Homes in the development range in size from 3,000 square feet to well over 5,000 square feet with level lots that are over an acre in size.
